We can’t believe that we’re already halfway through the year! The Summer Solstice is just weeks away, though Manchester seems unaware given all the rain. Read on to discover what’s happening in June at Saraband.
Audiobook Appreciation Month
This month is Audiobook Appreciation Month, which celebrates the art and joy of listening to stories.
It’s 11 years since our first audiobook production! During that time, we have recorded compelling dramas and thrillers, life stories that inspire, entertain and amuse and nature books that bring comfort and greater awareness about the world around us.
We’re thrilled by the success of our audiobook list. In 2023, The Reading Agency selected One Body to feature in the World Book Night Audiobook Selection. In 2023 and 2024 we were shortlisted by the Independent Publishers Awards judges for their Audio Award. And award-winning audiobooks include His Bloody Project, The Bay and Cold Fish Soup.
To celebrate, we’re offering 50% off all our audiobooks throughout June! This offer is valid when purchasing through the Saraband website and using code TXVIV at the checkout. (Glassboxx free app required to listen).
Audiobook of the month
“Tender and intimate writing that pulsates with love.” Pragya Agarwal, author of (M)otherhood.
This month we’re celebrating the release of Expecting by Chitra Ramaswamy. Use the code above for 50% off throughout June.

Poetry anthology submissions
We are currently accepting poetry submissions for inclusion in a nature poetry anthology, which will be published in the In The Moment series.
This anthology will include poems that approach nature from many perspectives. We welcome submissions that address the climate crisis and political issues alongside poems that simply celebrate the natural world.

“Independent Bookshop Week is a celebration of independent bookshops across the UK and Ireland. It aims to highlight the vital role independent bookshops play in their communities, and to encourage consumers to shop for their summer reads with their local independent.”
